ボーイスカウト豊見城第１団

中井団委員長が会長を務める沖縄スカウトクラブ（中井健会長）は４月度定例会を開催しました。
なお、豊見城１団から、中井健団委員長、金城宜嗣団委員が出席しました。

豊見城１団育成会長の金城宜嗣さんと団委員の嘉手苅修さんのシースカウト時代のことがLOOK WIDE #２４-１１２（２月２１日発行）に掲載されていましたのでご紹介します。

沖縄シースカウティングのお話をお聴きしました
I heard about Sea Scouting in Okinawa

４月９日（火）、キャンプフォスターにて、沖縄のシースカウティングについてお話をお聴きしました。
On April 09 (Tue) , at Camp Foster, I heard about sea scouting in Okinawa.
お越し頂いた方は、元シースカウト隊隊長金城宜嗣さん、同甲板長嘉手苅修さん、BSA１８５３シースカウト隊スコット・マーバットさんでした。
Those in attendance were former Okinawan Sea Scout Captain Mr. Yoshitsugu Kinjo, former boatswain Mr. Osamu Kadekaru and Mr.Scott Murbat from BSA Ship 1853.

金城さんは当時の制服を着て下さり、当時スカウトだった嘉手苅さんと共に沖縄のシースカウティングについてお話し下さいました。

金城さんはじめ沖縄のシースカウト関係者にお集まりいただき充実した時間となりました。沖縄のシースカウトの歴史が埋もれてしまわぬよう、更なる研究を行い、全国・世界の皆様にご紹介したいと思います。

It was a fulfilling time. In order to ensure that the history of Sea Scouting in Okinawa is not forgotten,
I would like to conduct further research and introduce it to everyone across the country and the world.
お聴きした情報をまとめて秋田で開催される全国大会のスカウティングEXPO内展示ブースでご紹介いたします。
I will summarize the information I have gathered and introduce it at the exhibition booth at the Scouting EXPO at the national convention to be held in Akita.

また今回お世話になりました沖縄の皆様にも、資料をまとめてご紹介致します。
I will also introduce all the materials to everyone in Okinawa.
まだ見つからない情報も多々ありますので、金城さん・嘉手苅さんにも情報収集にご協力いただいております。

豊見城1団ビーバー隊とカブ隊は、４月１４日（日）午前、豊見城市立中央公民館及び豊見城総合公園内に於いて、イースターエッグハントを行いました。


今年のエッグハントは、まず、①柚木ビーバー副隊長が封筒に入った「スカウトにまつ
わるクイズ」を出題（全部で6問）、
②スカウトたちはクイズの答えを推測、
③答えがわかったら全員一列に整列し、後方から前方のスカウトへ答えを伝達、最前方のスカウトが代表して柚木ビーバー副隊長へクイズの回答を伝える、
④クイズに正解したら「エッグの隠された場所」のヒントをもらう、
⑤ヒントをたよりにスカウトたちは公民館及び豊見城総合公園内に隠されたエッグを探し、見つけたら一度広場へ集合
⑥全員でエッグを開けると、中身はパズルのピース。
⑦隊員はエッグを探しながらパズルを組み立ていく。
⑧すべてエッグを集めると48ピ-スパズルが完成！！
というものでした。

単に隠されたエッグを探すだけではなく、思考力、団結力、そして公園の隅々まで走る体力と忍耐力も試されるとても有意義なエッグハントとなりました。  

ビーバー隊とカブ隊は、４月７日（日）午前、豊見城市立中央公民館に於いて、入団式・上進式の後、モビール作りをしました。


木をノコギリで切ったり、木の枠や木のビーズに色付けをしたり、麻紐でオリーブの葉を飾ったり、写真を取り付けたりと、各々オリジナリティ溢れる素敵な作品になったと思います。
なお、１個は体調を崩して入院している中井団委員長に対するお見舞品として贈りました。  

中井健団委員長が会長を務める沖縄スカウトクラブが、４月１０日（水）と１１日（木）の両日、源河野営場に於いて、トーテムポールの修正作業を行いました。
Volunteers from the Okinawa Scout Club (President Ken Nakai) worked to repair totem poles at the Genka cam on April 10 (Wed) and April 11(Thu).


10日は、伊波亮製作班副班長と、金城正幸会員が、キジムナーの腕の部分と、リュウキュウコノハズクの翼の取付ボルトをステンレス製に交換しました。
On the 10th, Mr. Ryo Iha production team sub leader and Mr. Masayuki Kinjo replaced the arm parts of the Kijimuna and the wing mounting bolts of the Ryukyu Scops Owl with stainless steel ones.

１１日の作業は、伊波亮製作班副班長と、金城正幸会員、玉城譲治副会長が以下の作業をしました。
①トーテムポールの翼の部分の正確な取り付けとコーキング作業
②銘板、御影石の設置のためのコンクリ打ちの仮枠の前作業を行いました。
On the 11th, Mr. Iha, Mr. Kinjo, and Vice President Joji Tamashiro did the following work.
①Accurate installation and caulking of the wing part of The totem pole.
②Preliminary work on the temporary concrete frame for the installation of the granite nameplate.
これでトーテムポールの本体の設置作業はほとんど　終わりました。
後は、銘板を取り付けるのと、 トーテムボール周りの整地作業を残すのみとなりました。
The installation work for the main body of the totem pole is now almost complete.All that was left now was to install the nameplate and level the ground around the totem pole.

また、この日はトーテムポール完成披露祝賀会に向けて、中央広場の草刈り完了しました。
Also, on this day, grass cutting in the central plaza was completed in preparation for the totem pole completion celebration party.  

豊見城1団ビーバー隊とカブ隊は、４月７日（日）午前、豊見城市立中央公民館に於いて、入団式と上進式を実施しました。

入団式は、４月から１年生になったスカウトが、左手で隊旗を手に取り、右手でビーバーサインをして、「ビーバースカウトのやくそく」、「ビーバー隊のきまり」、「ビーバースカウトのモットー」を恥ずかしながらも述べることができました。そして、大嶺雅英ビーバー隊長よりビーバーノート、ネッカチーフを貰って１名の入団が許可されました。　


カブ隊の上進式では、４月から３年生になったビーバースカウト達が、川に見立てたブルーシートのビーバー側川岸からカブ側川岸に飛び越えた後、又吉順二カブ隊長からうさぎのカブブックを貰って、ビーバーからカブに３名が上進しました。

式終了後、隊旗のたたみかた等の指導を受けて、カブスカウトが片付けを行うこともできました。
  

中井健団委員長が会長を務める沖縄スカウトクラブは、４月６日（土）午前、伊波会員所有の山小屋に於いて、会議を行い、銘版説明内容確認、お披露目式、祝賀会の次第、準備品、役割分担、寄付金名簿の確認等について話し合いました。
The Okinawa Scout Club (President Mr. Ken Nakai) held a meeting on the morning of Saturday, April 6 (Sat).
The meeting was held at a mountain hut owned by Mr. Iha.
At the meeting, we discussed things such as confirming the information on the nameplate, the schedule for the unveiling ceremony and celebration, items to be prepared, division of roles,
and confirmation of the list of donations.
この日話し合われた案件は、整理して２０日(土)の定例会で決定することになりました。
The matters discussed on this day will be sorted and decided out at the regular meeting on Saturday the 20th.


午後からは源河野営場に移動して、トーテムポールの追加作業（キジムナーの腕、腕に抱える魚、リュウキュウコノハズクの翼の取付)を行いました。
In the afternoon, we moved to Genkawa Campsite and did additional work on the totem pole (attaching Kijimuna's arms, the fish he holds in his arms, and the Ryukyu Scops Owl's wings).

この日の天気予報は雨でしたが、小雨が降ったり止んだりで作業には影響有りませんでした。
The weather forecast for this day was rain, but it started to rain lightly and stopped. There was no effect on work.

７日の作業については、６日に予定分が出来たこと、天気が更に悪化する見込みのため、取りやめとなりました。
Regarding the 7th, the schedule for the 6th was completed and the weather will be changed to bad. Therefore, it was canceled.

完成披露祝賀会に向けての最終作業は、銘板のセメント流しこみ、中央広場草刈り、トーテムポール周囲整地、足場撤去などを残すのみとなりました。
The only final work to be done in preparation for the completion celebration was pouring cement for the nameplate, mowing the grass in the central plaza, leveling the ground around the totem
poles, and removing the scaffolding.
この日の豊見城1団からの参加者は、金城宜嗣団委員、嘉手刈修団委員でした。
中井団委員長は、体調不良で入院中のため参加できませでした。
The participants from Scout Group To,igusuku 1 were Mr. Yoshitsugu Kinjo and Mr. Osamu Kadekaru. Mr. Nakai was unable to participate as he was hospitalized due to poor health.  

令和５年度社会教育功労者文部科学大臣表彰受賞者は、４月２６日（火）、沖縄県教育長を表敬訪問しました。
ボーイスカウト沖縄県連盟からは、中井健県連盟評議員・豊見城1団委員長が受賞しましたが、前日に緊急入院をしたため、加賀徹男事務局長が代理で出席しました。


中井団委員長は、県連盟役員として２６年余り事業の企画・運営や組織拡大、アメリカ連盟との合同行事のほか、県連盟広報誌を累計４４００号発行するなど、青少年の健全育成に貢献したことが評価されて受賞したものです。

中井健団委員長が会長を務める沖縄スカウトクラブの発足２０周年記念事業のトーテムポール設置作業は、３月２５日（月）に完工しましたが、　伊波亮トーテムポール製作副班長より、そのトーテムポールの現状についてレポートがありましたので、以下にご紹介いたします。
The totem pole installation work, which is a commemorative Project for the 20th anniversary of the Okinawa Scout Club, was completed on March 25 (Mon).
We would like to introduce a report by Mr.Ryo Iha, totem pole production sub leader, regarding the current status of the totem pole that was set up on March 25 (Mon).


トーテムポールの基礎のコンクリートの上塗りの件について工事人よりモルタル上塗り補修をしたと連絡があったので現場の確認に行ってきました。
Regarding the concrete top coat of the totem pole foundation, I was informed by a contractor that they had repaired the concrete with mortar topcoat, so I went to the site to check it out.

また、源河野営場入口の源河川のチェックも行いました。
その結果、川の深さはだいぶ浅くなって渡河しやすい状態になっていました。
I also checked the Genka River at the entrance to Genka Camp Ground. As a result, the river became much shallower and easier to cross.
By the way, I added a little coat of paint to the Kijimuna's arms and the owl's wings.

ついでに トーテンポールのキジムナーの腕の部分とフクロウの翼の部分のペンキを少し上塗りしてきました。
今後のトーテムポール製作作業は、①琉球コノハズクの翼の取付、②キジムナーの両腕と魚の取付、③銘板の取付を残すのみとなりました。
The only remaining totem pole making work left to do now is (1) attaching the Ryukyu Scops Owls' wings, (2) attaching the Kijimuna's arms and fish, and (3) attaching the nameplate of donors.
  

中井健団委員が会長を務める沖縄スカウトクラブ発足２０周年記念事業のトーテムポール設置作業は、３月２５日（月）に完工しました。
The totem pole installation work, which is a commemorative project for the 20th anniversary of the Okinawa Scout Club, was completed on March 25 (Mon).

これに伴い、翌２６日（火）には、工事業者によって片付け、ユンボのキャタビラでできた「わだち」の整地等の原状回復工事が行われました。
As a result, on the following day, the March 26 (Tue), a construction company carried out work to restore the area to its original state, including clearing the area and leveling the ruts created by a backhoe.


この日の工事内容は、キャタピラでできた「わだち」をユンボで均し、そこへ山砂利を敷いて転圧をかける方法が取られました。
こうして、トーテムポール設置場所、中央広場、野営場への侵入道の整地が行われました。
The work that day involved leveling the ``ruts'' made by the caterpillar tracks with a backhoe, then laying down mountain gravel and applying compaction.
In this way, the site for installing totem poles, the central plaza, and the access road from Genka River to the campground were cleared.

２６日の作業結果を見て、玉城譲治野営場長は、「これでデコボコも少なくなり、以前より良い野営場になるでしょう。中央広場の草(沖縄芝)は周りの芝が広がるのを待ちたい。丸太で作っていた雨水流しは、丸太が割れているのもあり、新しい物を購入する必要があるが、道が広くなり、雨水による道の変化を観察したい。」との見解を述べていました。
After seeing the results of the work on the 26th, campground ranger Joji Tamashiro said, ``Now there will be fewer bumps, so it will be a better campsite than before. I'd like to wait for the rainwater sinks that were made from logs to break, so we'll need to buy new ones, but now that the alleys are wider, I'd like to see how the roads change due to rainwater."

今後のトーテムポール製作作業は、①琉球コノハズクの翼の取付、②キジムナーの両腕と魚の取付、③銘板の取付を残すのみとなりました。
The only remaining totem pole making work left to do now is (1) attaching the Ryukyu Scops Owls' wings, (2) attaching the Kijimuna's arms and fish, and (3) attaching the donners name plate.
