４名の豊見城１団の指導者が、５月９日（金）、午後５時より、ロッカー下士官クラブ花火パテオ（嘉手納基地）において開催された「アメリカボーイスカウト極東連盟案内羅針盤地区地区指導者懇親会」に参加しました。
Many leaders from Scout Group Tomigusuku 1 participated The Guiding Compass District Leaders Happy Hour Mixer on Friday, May 9th from 5pm at Hannabi’s Patio, Kadena Air Base, Rocker NCO Club.

豊見城1団からの参加者は、中井健団委員長、大嶺ビーバー隊長、松川カブ隊長、宇良ビーバー副長でした。
Participants from the Scout Group Tomigusuku 1 were Mr. Ken Nakai (Committee Chairman), Mr. Omine (Beaver Master), Mr. Matsukawa (Cub Master), and Ms. Ura (Assistant Beaver Master).
  

香港ボーイスカウト一行約３０名が、7月２５日（金）から７月３０日（水）の間、石垣島と沖縄本島を訪問するに当たって、石垣島と沖縄本島で沖縄のボーイスカウトと交流会を行いたいとの要望があります。
A group of about 30 Boy Scouts from Hong Kong will be visiting Ishigaki Island and Okinawa Island from July 25 (Fri)　to July 30 (Wed), and they would like to hold an exchange meeting with the Okinawan scouts on Ishigaki Island and Okinawa Island.
それに伴い、ボーイスカウト沖縄県連盟は、５月７日（水）、１９：００よりGoogle Meetを使用して、香港・沖縄スカウト交流会準備オンライン会議を開催しました。
この会議に中井健団委員長が参加しました。

In response to this, the Okinawa Council held an online meeting to prepare for the Hong Kong-Okinawa Scout Exchange Event using Google Meet from 7:00 p.m. on May 7（Wed).

ボーイスカウト豊見城1団は、沖縄県や鹿児島県の奄美群島で旧暦３月３日に行われる伝統行事である「ハマウイ （浜下り）」を行い、浜辺の生き物の観察しています。
Scout Group Tomigusuku 1 observes beach creatures during Hamaui, a traditional event held on March 3rd of the lunar calendar in Okinawa Prefecture and the Amami Islands of Kagoshima Prefecture.


３月３日は日本では女の子の節句「ひな祭り」で、一般的なひな祭りは、ひな人形を飾り、ひなあられや菱餅、はまぐりのお吸い物やちらし寿司などを食べる行事で、どちらかというと「屋内」の行事ですが、浜下りはまったく違って、そもそも「その日には家にいてはならない」ことになっていて、浜下りの名前の通り「浜」、つまりは「海岸」に出る日となっています。
March 3rd is Hinamatsuri, a girls' festival in Japan, and a typical Hinamatsuri is an indoor event where people Decorate dolls and eat Hina Arare, Hishi Mochi, clam soup, and chirashi sushi.
However, Hamaui is completely different. It is a day when people should not stay at home, and just as the name Hamaui suggests, it is a day when you they go to the beach, or the coast.

浜下りが行われる旧暦３月３日は、常に干満の差が1年間で最も大きい大潮になり、この日の干潮時には、海浜や干瀬が最も広がるため、海岸に出かけて魚貝類を捕ったり海草を採り、また、ご馳走を持って（あるいは神仏に供えて）、海浜に出かけ、（特に女性が）手足を海水に浸して身を清めて健康を祈願するという風習です。
しかし、現在では「身を清める」という意味合いは薄れていて浜に遊びに行き潮干狩りを楽しむ日という認識の方も増えています。
Hamaui is held on the 3rd of March on the lunar calendar, which always falls on the spring tide, when the difference between high and low tide is the greatest for the year.
At low tide on this day, the beach and tidal reefs are at their widest, so people go to the coast to catch fish and shellfish, gather seaweed, and take some food (or offer it to the gods and Buddha) to the beach, where they (especially women) immerse their hands and feet in seawater to purify themselves and pray for good health.
Nowadays, the meaning of "purifying the body" has faded, and more and more people see it as a day to go to the beach and enjoy clam digging.

豊見城１団では、スカウトたちにウチナーンチュとしてのアイデンティティーを自覚させ、郷土を愛する心を育てるべく、様々な沖縄の伝統行事や風習や、伝統芸能などに触れる機会を設け、毎年「浜下り」を行っています。
Scout Group Tomigusuku 1 holds "Hamaui" every year, providing the scouts with the opportunity to experience various Okinawan traditional events, customs, and traditional performing arts in order to help them become aware of their identity as Okinawans and cultivate a love for their hometown.
今年の旧暦３月３日 は３月３１日（月）でしたので、４月にハマウイを行う計画をしていましたが、毎週末は雨だったため実施できず断念か・・・と思っていたところ、５月３日（土）にビーチ清掃を行うことになったので、せっかくビーチに行くので、ビーチ清掃終了後に、遅ればせながらアメリカボーイスカウトとともにハマウイとして、「浜辺の生き物観察＆水遊び」を行いました。
This year, the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar was on Monday, March 31, so we were planing to hold Hamaui in April. However, it rained every weekend, so we couldn't hold it and we thought we had to give up.
However, since we were planning to do a beach cleanup on Saturday, May 3rd, and since we were going to the beach anyway, we decided to do Observing beach creatures and playing in the water was held as Hamaui with the Scouting America after the beach cleanup was finished.

ビーチ清掃を終えたスカウトたちは、海の安全対策としてライフジャケットを着けて、潮干狩りに臨みました。
After cleaning the beach, the scouts put on life jackets as a safety precaution at sea and went clamming.

この日スカウトのおばあちゃんが「もずくてんぷら」と「サーターアンダギー」を作って持ってきてくださったので、ビーチ清掃後、スカウトたちは、それと団で準備した経口補水液をいただき、休息をとりました。
On this day, one of the scouts' grandmothers brought over some prepared "mozuku tempura" and "Okinawan donuts", so after cleaning up the beach, the scouts were able to rest while enjoying these and the oral rehydration solution that the group had prepared.
この日は、曇りで２５℃と快適な気温で、スカウトたちはイノーで小魚や、貝、イソギンチャク、クラゲ、なまこ等の浜辺の生き物観察を楽しみました。
It was a cloudy day with a comfortable temperature of 25°C, and the scouts enjoyed observing beach creatures such as small fish, shells, sea anemones, jellyfish, and sea cucumbers on the beach and rocky shorelines.
  

５月３日（土）、豊見城１団は、玻名城ビーチ（八重瀬町）於いて、「スカウトごみの日2025年」の一環として、アメリカボーイスカウトカブ第1隊とともにビーチ清掃をしました。
On Saturday, May 3rd, Scout Group Tomigusuku 1 cleaned up the beach at Hanashiro Beach (Yaese Town) together with Scouting America Cub Pack 1 as part of "Scouts Trash the Trash Day 2025."

中井健団委員長は下記の通り、スカウティングアメリカ極東連盟OAアチュパテウニーロッジに参加しました。


開催目的：新たに設立された各地区に対応するOAチャプターの名称変更のため、各地区ごとに以下の通りZOOMで開催しました。
①フェニックス地区：４月２２日（火）
②パシフィックリム地区：４月２３日（水）
③沖縄・カンボジア・インド・インドネシア・マレーシア・ネパール・シンガポール・タイ国・ベトナムを管轄するガイディングコンパス地区：４月２７日（日）、２０：００（日本時間）開催

ＳＡＪ沖縄県連盟からは、中井健団委員長が、OA正会員としてガイディングコンパス地区の会議に参加しました。
この日の議題は以下の通りでした。
１．新チャプター（分会）名称について
ガイディングコンパス地区のチャプター名称は、これまで通りアワニコチャプターし、火の最高司令官の承認を得ることが決定されました。

豊見城1団は、４月１９日（土）～２０日（日）、県立糸満青少年の家に於いて、団ファミリーキャンプを実施しました。
Scout Group Tomigusuku 1 held a Family Camp at the Itoman Youth Center from April 19 (Sat) to 20(Sun).


プログラム内容は下記の通りでした。
The program contents were as follows.
第1日目 Day 1
第1日目は以下のプログラムが行われました。
The following program took place on the first day:
①国旗掲揚柱設営・国旗掲揚練習
スカウト達は国旗掲揚柱設営のための技能（ロープワーク等）を教えてもらい、掲揚柱を設置しました。
また、国旗掲揚法を学び掲揚・降納の練習をしました。
① Setting up the national flagpole and practicing hoisting the national flag
The scouts were taught the skills required for erecting flagpoles (ropework, etc.) and then set up the flagpoles.
They also learned how to hoist the flag and practiced hoisting and lowering it.
② 開会式
開会式は糸満青少年の家のスタッフの出席を得て行われました。
② Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony was held with the attendance of staff from Itoman Youth Center.
③テント設営法訓練
今回、テントは糸満青少年の家から借用しました。
しかし借用したテントは、これまでスカウトたちが扱ったことのないウォールテントだったため、設営前に糸満青少年の家スタッフによる設営講習が行われました。
③ Tent setting up training
This time, the tents were borrowed from the Itoman Youth Center.
Since the borrowed tents were wall tents, which the scouts had never handled before, the staff of the Itoman Youth Center gave them a training on how to set them up beforehand.
④火起こし訓練
スカウトたちは、夕食調理に向けて、a. 舞切り式火起こし器、ｂ.マグネシュウム着火器を使用して着火訓練を行いました。しかし、舞切り式火起こし器では煙は出たものの着火までに至らなかったため、マグネシュウム着火器に代えて行い、火起こしに成功しました。
④Fire-making training
The scouts practiced starting fires using a pump drill firestarter and a sparker to prepare for dinner. However, Although a pump drill firestarter produced smoke, it did not ignite, so we switched to a sparker and were successful in starting a fire.
⑤夕食調理（カレーライス）
夕食はカレーラース、ビーバー、カブ、ボーイ全員で協力して薪火を使用してカレーライスを調理しました。
⑤Cooking and dinner (curry and rice)
Dinner was curry and rice. The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts worked together to cook the curry and rice over a wood fire.
⑥キャンプファイヤー
夕食後はいつものようにキャンプファイヤー。皆で歌ったり踊ったりして楽しみました。
⑥ Campfire
After dinner, scouts had a campfire as usual. They all had fun singing and dancing.
⑦ホタルウォッチング
雨のためかホタルが飛んでいなくて残念ながら中止になりました。
⑥ Firefly watching
Unfortunately, due to the rain, the fireflies were not flying, So it was cancelled.
After dinner, scouts had a campfire as usual.
⑧就寝
１０：００スカウトたちは、自分たちで立てたテントで家族毎に就寝しました。
⑧ Bedtime
At 10:00, the scouts went to bed as families in the tents they had set up themselves.

第２日目 Day 2
①朝食調理（ホットドッグ）
朝食のメニューはホットドッグとサラダとバナナ。
朝食も薪火調理にしたため火起こしに時間がかかってしましましたが、美味しくいただけました。
① Breakfast Cooking and (Hot dogs)
The breakfast menu was hot dogs, salad, and bananas.
Breakfast was cooked over firewood, so it took a while to get the fire going, but it was delicious.
②撤収・清掃
朝食後、キャンプサイトの撤収と清掃をしました。
雨の中の撤収となったため、思ったより時間がかかってしましましたが、野営規則「キャンプサイトは来た時よりきれいにして帰る」を実践しました。
② Strike campsite and cleaning up
After breakfast, we striked and cleaned up the campsite.
It took longer than expected because we had to pack up in the rain, but we followed the camping rule of "Leave the
campsite cleaner than when you arrived."
